How To Find Costume Ideas For Halloween

There are lots of ways to come up with good ideas for costumes at Halloween. You certainly don't have to rely on your local discount superstore - the stuff they carry is just the tip of the iceberg.

If you're wondering who or what you want to be for Halloween this year, you don't have to look any further than movies or TV shows - they have lots of potential ideas.

For example, a couple of the biggest movies this summer were Pirates of the Caribbean and Miami Vice.

Why be just a pirate when you can be Captain Jack Sparrow? Rent the movie and get the voice and mannerisms down, and your pirate costume will outshine everyone else's.

Or maybe you could go retro and dig out your pastels from the 80's to become Crocket or Tubbs from the original Miami Vice. The new movie is certainly more stylish these days, but the original style will have more impact as your costume.

If movies and TV don't inspire you, there are always the tried and true costumes like a witch, a vampire or a ghost. Just put your own spin on things. Make it unique in some way so if there are 3 or 4 other witches at the party, you'll stand out from the crowd.

You could also do some browsing on one of the costume websites to get some ideas. You'll be able to see what's popular (and what isn't if you don't want to be dressed like a bunch of other people this year).

You could even look to other holidays for ideas. After all, who else would expect to see Santa or the Easter Bunny at Halloween?
